Meet the Editors
We are a small team of two, because we are double the fun, and because we do our jobs perfectly as a team. Well, we try. We both have degrees in this shit, so we want to put our time where our degrees are...don't we all?

Editor-in-Chief
Chloe Colvard
Chloe Colvard is a multidisciplinary artist and writer living in Brooklyn with her 2 cats. She created Journal Club in order to bring creatives of all types together in community, and to foster an outlet for those who create to reconnect with the childlike wonder that goes along with making something for the purpose of enjoyment and passion. She doesn't want Journal Club to feel like a high-stakes financial/career advancement, but rather a unit of friends. She loves to make new friends everywhere she goes; from strangers at concerts, to the owners of her local bodega. Chloe served as Editor-in-Chief of 12th Street, a literary journal publishing many genres of work. In addition, she recently finished an artist residency at Carrie Able Gallery. Her latest feminist/visual project was recently published on Curated by Girls, you can check it out here.

Managing Editor
Sofia Martinez
Sofia Martinez is a writer living in Puerto Rico, and attempting to get her life together. So, naturally, she’s currently a bartender. Her written work deals with cultural identity, relationships, gender, and mental illness. As Managing Editor of Journal Club, she wants to continue tapping into her artsy side by connecting with fellow creatives. Journal Club is an outlet for her to not only feel comforted and confident in her creativity, but also gives her the ability to see, appreciate, and encourage it in others. It’s also a reminder of how much her art thrives in collaboration, conversation, and support. She's the project manager of a project called Decolonial Memory, and is applying to MFA programs in Creative Writing for next year.
